Learning Resilience - Presentation and Discussion
We're feeling it, and hope you are too. Lockdown has created a dissatisfaction in so many of us with the day-to-day humdrum life we used to live. We're tired of the same old drudge of work, eat, sleep... repeat.
The enforced pause in life has given many of us a chance to sit back and re-examine what it is we're trying to achieve, what is our purpose on this planet, and 'How we got ourselves in this mess'.
A few of us decided that we don't want to go back to that crap, and we want to make some changes, both to ourselves and to the community around us... and we'd like to invite you to join us.
It's about waking up, opening our eyes, looking around, and calling out this ridiculous and increasingly ignorant world of censorship, political correctness and politics of fear, division and hatred.
Over the coming weeks and months we will be working to bring renowned speakers on all kinds of subjects to Rammy, whether it is an archaelogist with an alternative view on the Egyptian pyramids or an esteemed imman from Saudi Arabia, a specialist in nanoparticulates or a buddhist monk. Film producers, war correspondents, philosophers, artists, musicians... you name it. We want to know more about the world, and about ourselves, and we want to discover it first-hand, in conversation with the people who really know.
We begin this weekend with a local fella named Russ Magnall.
Russ experienced trauam at a very early age, but he found that it shaped him in an unexpected way. Instead of it getting him down, Russ took those feelings and started to help others become more resilient to life's challenges.
On Sunday at 11am Russ will present a two hour session, a talk and then discussion, exploring the tools he has found which help him get through the trials of life and become a stronger person, tools which we believe can help us all.
If you have any questions or would like to attend then please let us know and we will reserve you a place. The cost is £2 and the event will be held in the main stand at Ramsbottom United FC (alongside the railway and the cricket club) in order that social distancing rules can be followed. There is only space for a very small number, so please book asap.
